Specialist military injury claim solicitors

Since Crown immunity was lifted in 1987, serving personnel and veterans have been able to hold the MOD to account for negligence — from inadequate training and defective kit to a failure to protect against hearing loss or cold injury. A military injury claim is a civil claim, entirely separate from the no-fault Armed Forces Compensation Scheme (AFCS), and in many cases you can pursue both. We handle these claims with discretion and No Win No Fee.

Your questions answered

Military injury claims — your questions

Can I claim if I’ve left the forces?+
Yes. Veterans make up a large share of military injury claims, especially for conditions that develop or worsen after discharge such as hearing loss or non-freezing cold injury. Being discharged doesn’t stop you claiming, provided you’re within the time limit.
Is a military injury claim the same as the AFCS?+
No. The Armed Forces Compensation Scheme (AFCS) is a no-fault government scheme. A military injury claim is a separate civil claim against the MOD for negligence — and in many cases you can pursue both, with the civil claim often worth considerably more.
Will making a claim affect my career?+
A genuine claim should not affect your career, and claims are handled confidentially. We advise serving personnel regularly and manage the process discreetly.
Is it really No Win No Fee?+
Yes. We run military injury claims on a No Win No Fee basis — nothing upfront and nothing to pay if your claim doesn’t succeed. If you win, an agreed success fee comes from your compensation.
How long do I have to claim?+
Usually three years from the date of injury or from your date of knowledge — which, for conditions like hearing loss, may be years after service. Get in touch early so we can advise on the time limit for your case.
