How much does a cycle accident claim cost me?+
We work on a No Win, No Fee basis, so there's nothing to pay upfront and nothing to pay at all if your claim doesn't succeed. If you win, a success fee is deducted from your compensation — capped by law at 25% of certain damages for personal injury. We'll explain every figure clearly before you sign anything.
How long do I have to make a claim?+
In England and Wales you usually have 3 years from the date of the accident to start a cycle accident claim. There are exceptions — for children the 3 years runs from their 18th birthday, and different rules can apply if the injury came to light later. It's best to get advice early so vital evidence isn't lost.
What if I wasn't wearing a helmet?+
You can still claim. There's no law in England and Wales requiring adult cyclists to wear a helmet. In some cases an insurer may argue your injuries were worse without one, which could reduce a head-injury award, but it won't stop you claiming for the accident itself.
Can I claim if the driver drove off or was uninsured?+
Yes. Claims involving untraced (hit-and-run) or uninsured drivers can be pursued through the Motor Insurers' Bureau (MIB). We handle these claims regularly, so don't assume you've no options just because you couldn't get the driver's details.
How much compensation could I receive?+
It depends on the severity of your injuries and your financial losses. A minor injury might be a few thousand pounds, while a serious head or spinal injury can run to six figures or more. These figures are illustrative — we'll give you a realistic estimate once we understand your case.
What if the accident was partly my fault?+
