What does No Win No Fee mean?+
No Win No Fee — formally a Conditional Fee Agreement (CFA) — means you don’t pay your solicitor’s fees upfront, and you pay nothing in legal fees if your claim is unsuccessful. It takes the financial risk out of making a claim, so you can pursue compensation with confidence.
How does No Win No Fee work?+
After a free assessment, you sign a Conditional Fee Agreement. We then run your claim at no cost to you. If we win, our fee is an agreed success fee taken from your compensation; if we lose, you don’t pay our fees. Where appropriate, “After the Event” insurance protects you against the other side’s costs.
What percentage do No Win No Fee solicitors take?+
The success fee is always agreed with you in writing before your claim begins. For personal injury claims in England & Wales it is capped by law at 25% of certain damages. We’ll explain the exact figure clearly, so there are no surprises.
How much compensation could I claim?+
Every case is different. Your compensation reflects the seriousness of your injury or loss, how it has affected your life, and any financial losses such as lost earnings, treatment or care. After a free assessment we can give you a realistic estimate for your circumstances.
How long do I have to make a claim?+
In most personal injury cases in England & Wales you have three years from the date of the accident, or from when you first became aware of your injury. Different time limits apply to children and certain claims, so it’s best to get in touch as early as you can.
How long does a claim take?+
Straightforward claims can settle within a few months. More serious injuries take longer, because we wait until your long-term prognosis is clear so your settlement reflects the full impact on your life. We’ll keep you updated at every stage.
Will my claim go to court?+
The vast majority of claims settle without ever going to court. If court does become necessary, your solicitor will prepare everything and support you throughout — you won’t be on your own.
Do I need a solicitor to make a claim?+
You don’t have to use a solicitor, but specialist legal representation usually secures more compensation and takes the stress off you. On a No Win No Fee basis there’s no financial risk in instructing us.
Which areas do you cover?+
We’re based in Halifax, West Yorkshire, and act for clients across England & Wales. Wherever you are, you can deal with us by phone, email and post — there’s no need to visit our office.
